VORKUTA, Komi Republic, Feb 26 (PRIME) -- The shares of Russian steelmaker Severstal fell 1.73% to 629 rubles at 3:37 p.m., Moscow time on Friday, as a rescue team is still unable to contact 26 miners after a rock bump at the Severnaya mine of Severstal’s affiliate Vorkutaugol, according to the Moscow Exchange and the Emergency Ministry.

According to the ministry, of 110 miners who were working at Severnaya late on Thursday, when the incident took place, 80 people were evacuated and four found dead.

Emergency Minister Vladimir Puchkov said that it is impossible to contact the people who are still in the mine because the bump produced much debris and smoke.

An additional troop of rescuers was sent to Severnaya at about 3:00 p.m., Moscow time, the ministry said.
